Gyoza King: Tori King Gyoza - Still One Of The Best Gyoza In Singapore

I am back for the second time, this time for Tori King Gyoza and two other side dishes.

There wasn't any queue, probably because it's a weekday. I finally managed to snap a picture of the drink stand where you can enjoy a cup of Japanese barley tea while waiting in the queue. They are so thoughtful, it's difficult not to like the restaurant.

Learning from my mistake on the first visit, I ordered Rice Large (it's the same price for all sizes of rice). Koshihikari Rice is the crown jewel of Japanese short-grain rice and I love its stickiness.

This is Tori King Gyoza. The skin is fried to a crispy finish (it's even crispier than the last time) and it is served piping hot. It is delicious.

I was a little scared that the chicken meat will be dry, but my doubts were unfounded. The filling is tender and flavorful.

This time I ordered Miso Soup.

This is supposed to be Pork Sukiyaki with a Raw Egg, but I was so smitten by the pork sukiyaki that I forgot to put in the raw egg. It is very tasty by itself with thin pork slices and onion slices cooked in sauce made of soy sauce, sugar and mirin. I do wish that it could be served piping hot, instead of this lukewarm temperature.

Stir Fried Eggplant with Miso is served straight from the work. Sweet miso sauce coats pieces of tender brinjal. It is a delicious dish.

My verdict remains that Gyoza King serves one of the best gyoza in Singapore and the sides dishes are equally as good. Not to forget the warm and fluffy Koshihikari Rice that costs the same no matter what size you choose. Gyoza King does not compromise on the quality of the food, which probably accounts for its popularity. This is definitely the place to be for some quality and very affordable Japanese food.
