Nuvo (November)

I finally got to try Nuvo's $15 Set Lunch for the month of November. As you can see, they did not change the whole menu. Only the not-so-popular items are taken out and replaced.

Pork Belly Katsu is simply delicious. Pork belly is deep-fried in Japanese style. Drops of melted mozzarella cheese not only makes the dish look more appetising, it enhances the taste of the pork belly katsu. Cherry tomatoes salad and aged balsamic vinegar adds a little sweetness and sourness, balancing out the oiliness of the katsu.

The classic Chicken Bolognese has been given a twist by replacing spaghetti with udon. The soft udon goes well with the slightly spicy chicken bolognese sauce.

I am totally in love with the Nutella Peanut Butter Brownie - soft, gooey and sweet. However, the base is too hard and dry, I do wish that the base can be replaced with another piece of that delicious brownie. Paired with a scoop of affogato ice-cream and decorated with almond flakes, the contrast of piping hot brownie with ice-cold ice-cream will make you go wild.

Please look forward to my review of the December menu.

  1. Wow, this set looks really good! I like the idea of a pork belly katsu..i've only had the regular kind before, but pork belly makes everything better. I'm not actually a nutella-by-itself fan, but in a brownie I think i'd like it. Nice pictures :)

    1. Hmm .. the nutella brownie is marvellous! It is soft and chewy and fudgy, it's really good! You can even make it yourself in 5 minutes flat. Here's the link: http://eugeniekitchen.com/nutella-mug-cake/
