Eat at Seven: Magurodonya Miuramisakikou Sushi & Dining

Eat at Seven at level 3 of Suntec City Mall features 7 of Japan's best and trending specialist concept restaurants is brought into Singapore by Global Retail Partners, a joint venture by ANA Trading, Komars Group and local restaurateur Mr Andrew Tan who owns Tomo F&B Group.

Japanese cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines, so I am going to dedicate the whole of December to the review of these 7 restaurants.

Let's go on to the restaurant with the longest name, Magurodonya Miuramisakikou Sushi & Dining. Magurodonya Miuramisakikou is actually a combination of 5 Japanese words: maguro means "tuna" in Japanese while donya means "wholesaler"; kou means "port" in Japanese and Misaki is the name of a port in Miura, Kanagawa prefecture of Japan that is famed for its abundance of high-quality tuna all-year round.

All meals come with salad, miso soup, chawanmushi and fresh fruits.

When you order Chef's Special "Kaisen Don" Set, you get a bowl of fragrant Hokkaido rice topped with tamagoyaki, fresh slices of tuna, salmon and horse mackerel, shrimp, lightly-torched cuttlefish and fish roe. The seafood are very fresh.

Watching as the fresh pieces of pinkish maguro gets tourched in front of your eyes is such a delight when you order Maguro Otoro Don Set. After torching, the outside turns a little whitish-grey but the inside is still pinkish soft. Paired with fragrant Hokkaido rice, the otoro melts in the mouth. Do note that there are only 6 portions are served daily, so do go down early to grab yours.

The prices at Magurodonya Miuramisakikou is a little steep, but attentive service and outstanding food quality makes it easier to accept. After all, you are paying for one of the best maguro and seafood money can buy.
