PM Chicken by Pizza Maru - Seoul Yummy Fried Chicken Concept

You can only eat so much Jollibee before you get tired of it. Luckily, I found a new spot in Square 2 which sells Korean fried chicken - PM Chicken by Pizza Maru.

PM Chicken - Menu 2

PM Chicken - Menu 1

Besides Korean fried chicken, you can also find twigim (Korean tempura), toppokki, pasta, risotto and mocktails on  PM Chicken’s menu.

PM Chicken - How to Order

You can either get the staff to take your order and pay at the cashier after your meal or use the new cashless method. You can scan the QR code on the corner of each table, pick your orders and pay on your smartphone. I find this method easier as you don’t have to wait for the staff to notice your waving hand.

PM Chicken - Banchan

Many Korean restaurants don’t provide banchan (side dishes) like these anymore so I was pleasantly surprised when they presented me with 5 side dishes. The side dishes change everyday but there will always be kimchi. I liked the bean sprouts and kimchi so much that I had them refill them twice for me. It’s free-flow, so why not?

PM Chicken - Honey Garlic Gangjeong

There are both spicy and non-spicy versions of fried chicken. I opted for Honey Garlic Gangjeong[S$18.90] which is supposed to be sweet-spicy but is actually not spicy at all. Each piece of fried chicken is twice as big as those from Hongdae Oppa.

Korean fried chicken get their crunchy crispy skin from double-frying. Drizzle on the addictive honey garlic sauce and it’s simply finger-licking delicious.

PM Chicken - Daeyang Pasta

PM Chicken offers a variety of pasta dishes and every one looks so good. In the end, I chose Daeyang Pasta [S$15.90] which is really the creamy version of jjamppong.

I requested for less spicy and they did it really well. 5 mussels, two huge prawns and 4 pieces of squid decorates the plate of creamy pasta. There is just a hint of spiciness in the pasta, but you can’t really tell from outside. It is a hugely satisfying dish.

PM Chicken - Spicy Seafood Toppokki

I requested for less-spicy version of Spicy Seafood Toppoki [S$15.90] so they used more tomato sauce. The mussels, prawns, squid rings are definitely pre-cooked because they are a little dry, but the rice cakes are perfect. They are thick and chewy and tastes superb with the sweet-and-spicy sauce.

PM Chicken is actually part of Seoul Yummy which means you can order from the Seoul Yummy menu as well.

Seoul Yummy - Spam & Cheese Mini Army Stew

One of Seoul Yummy’s signature dish is their Army Stew. This is usually shared by 2-3 people. If you are eating alone like me, you can get the Mini Army Stew. This is Spam & Cheese Mini Army Stew which comes with Korean ramyeon, tteobokki, spam, sausage, enoki, beancurd, baked beans, assorted vegetables and kimchi. It’s mildly spicy and all the ingredients come together perfectly.

PM Chicken - Jja Jang Myon

I miss having jjajangmyeon (Korean black bean sauce noodles) so I ordered their Jja Jang Myon. I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it is. The black bean pork sauce is thick with just the right balance between sweet and salty. The noodles are cooked just right and are slightly chewy.

Seoul Yummy - Cheesy Potato Pancake

Bored of the usual kimchi pancake, I decided to get a Cheesy Potato Pancake instead. The potato pancake itself is a little bland but the slice of cheddar and grated parmesan cheese on top elevates the taste slightly.

PAUL is a renowned family French bakery and patisserie founded in 1889. Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg.                         Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. I have been told that their Signature Oven-Baked Honey Bread is very good. The flavours include Strawberry & Chocolate with Ice Cream, Banana & Chocolate with Ice Cream and Green Tea with Ice Cream.     I was told that   Mango Cheesecake Bingsu   is one of the most popular item on the menu. Oh my, it is a sight to behold! A bowl of shaved ice is topped with sweetened condensed milk and freshly-cut m...

Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
