Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Japanese Buffet in UE Square

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Restaurant Front

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant has been on my “to-visit” list for the longest time but I couldn’t find friends to go with me. I finally got to visit the outlet in UE Square with my colleagues a few weeks ago.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - InteriorThe outlet at UE Square is clean and comfortable with ample wooden tables and padded chairs.

Omizu Buffet

Even though Omizu Buffet (Adult S$62.90++, Child S$49.90++) is the cheapest option of all the buffets available, it offers more than 220 Japanese cuisine to choose from.

Besides sashimi and different types of sushi, there are also steamed dishes, grilled and deep-fried dishes, rice and noodles, mini hotpot and desserts.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Appetizers

We started with some inppinmono (appetizers) - Chuka Wakame (Japanese seaweed), Chuka Zika Sansai (marinated squid), Chuka Asari (marinated clams) and Chuka Idako (marinated baby octopus).

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Toufu Moriwase

Tofou Moriwase is chilled Japanese tofu served in 3 ways - Kimchi Toufu, Pitan Toufu and Goma Toufu.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Sashimi Moriwase

Sashimi Moriwase comes with pieces of salmon, tuna, lumbarjack and scallop. The seafood are so fresh, all the sashimi pieces are so thick and succulent.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Grilled Items

These are some of the grilled items. Uzura Be-Konb Teriyaki is quail egg wrapped in pork belly and grilled with teriyaki sauce. I am not a fan of quail eggs but my colleagues definitely enjoyed it a lot.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Grilled Meats

We also had Yaki Tori Tare (chicken skewers), Buta To Garlic (pork skewers with garlic).

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Grilled Seafood

There is also Yaki Ebi Be-Kon Bata Yaki, Ebi Miso Yaki and Shake Atama Shioyaki (grilled salmon head).

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Sakoshi Bay Oyster

These Sakoshi Bay Oysters are usually not part of our buffet menu, but they were having a promotion so the oysters are free-flow too! These freshly-shucked oysters are so plump and juicy, they taste so great with a dash of lemon juice and Tabasco sauce.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Yaki Truffle

These Yaki Truffle Baby Half Shell Hotate are so good, we had to get a second serving. I can taste a little of the truffle aroma and the scallop has nice firm texture.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Daifuku Mochi

For desserts, there are 3 flavors of Daifuku Mochi - Ichigo (Strawberry), Matcha and Mango.

Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant - Ice Cream

There is also ice-cream in a variety of flavors such as cookies and cream and double chocolate.

PAUL

PAUL is a renowned family French bakery and patisserie founded in 1889. Bringing with them them the fine tradition of passion for food and French traditions, PAUL gives Singaporeans a glimpse into French culture and tradition through the delicious and visually-appealing pastries and food.       PAUL's Hot Chocolate is not as creamy as I would have liked it but every last drop is made with good-quality cocoa powder.     Lemon Tart With Meringue is not exactly my favourite dessert, but it looked so pretty that I decided to give it a try anyway. However, it proved to be too sour for my palette even with the beautifully flamed meringue.    Croque Madame is croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) topped with a fried egg. Emmental cheese, cream and ham is sandwich in pain de eie and toasted till a rich golden brown colour. Topped with a fried egg with runny yolk, every bite is filled with delicious goodness.   Address and telephone n...

O'ma Spoon

Korean bingsu is a popular Korean dessert comprising of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, fresh fruits, Korean rice cake and ice-cream. Bingsu is all the craze in Singapore now and Korean bingsu cafes are popping up everywhere like wild mushrooms.                            Besides bingsu, this dessert cafe also serves usual cafe offerings such as coffee and tea. I have been told that their Signature Oven-Baked Honey Bread is very good. The flavours include Strawberry & Chocolate with Ice Cream, Banana & Chocolate with Ice Cream and Green Tea with Ice Cream.     I was told that   Mango Cheesecake Bingsu   is one of the most popular item on the menu. Oh my, it is a sight to behold! A bowl of shaved ice is topped with sweetened condensed milk and freshly-cut m...

Grandma's - Authentic Singapore Food

Grandma's has been around for quite a while now but I only got the chance to try their food recently when the third outlet opened in Suntec City.        I remember having these prawn crackers when I was little. They are so easy and good to eat, I can finish a whole package of this in one sitting.     I don't usually order Malay food, but the Nasi Bukhari looked so good in the menu, I thought I will give it a try. Fragrant yellow turmeric rice is served with golden brown chicken leg which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Prawns were fresh and succulent but I don't really like the sauce the prawns are cooked in. What really amazes me about this dish is the beef rendang.          I never knew Bo Bo Cha Cha is so such a delightful dessert until I tried it here at Grandma's. The warm and thick coconut tastes so good with chunks of sweet potato and yam. This is definitely comfort food that warms the heart.   Gr...
